Detailing Bliss Pro Detailer Announcement
Well I'm very please to aounce that Jayplay has joined the Pro league here at Detailing Bliss, he is the first to do so. I thought it would be good to get to know Jayplay a bit more and I've asked him some questions. Enjoy.
Lets start off with telling us about your self?
My name is Jay Lawrence, Im 32 yrs old and origianlly from Tampa, Florida but currently reside in the U.K
How many vehicles do you own and drive and how often are they detailed?
We had 3 vehicles up to a few days
ago, a Lexus is200, BMW 318 and my work van a Renault Traffic. My Lexus was sold last week as it never got driven as I tend to always use the van. I try to wash the van at least once a week, the other vehicles tend to be neglected a bit longer (2-3 weeks).
What is your childhood dream vehicle?
Have always loved Ferrari's.
What got you started in to detailing?
Whilst in Jnr High school back in Florida my football coach got me a job at a local car wash cleaning cars to try and keep me from "hanging out" in the hopes I would stay out of trouble and focus on my grades as I was close to be kicked off the team due to poor grades.
How long have you been detailing at the Pro level?
Gleaming Kleen has been going for about 3 yrs now. It started as a valeting company here in UK and have slowing been making the transition over to Detailing over the past 15 months. Must say still learning everyday!
How did you learn to machine polish?
Was taught many years
ago the basics of how to use a rotary whilst working for a paint shop . Then mainly through trail and error over the years. It was only last year after finding DW that I purchased a DA (Porter Cable) and soon found myself going back to rotary.
What was your first machine rotary or DA?
First machine was rotary
Do you have a favorite vehicle to detail and why?
I do like working on the likes of Lotus Exige, I really do like the curves
Wax or Sealant?
Wax
What is your favorite Wax and why?
would have to be Swissvax, easy to use and leave great results.
What is your favorite Sealant and why?
Zaino- durability and the look it leaves.
What is your favorite colour to detail and why?
Would have to be red
Do you like Soccer? What’s your favorite team?
No, not a soccer fan
Where do you go to relax/holidays?
We usually try to go to the Caribbean once a year and I tend to travel back to Florida once or twice a year to visit my family.
Do you like walks on the beach? (you have to answer this one!!!!)
Don’t mind if on holiday somewhere that’s nice and exotic. Keeps the wife happy!
