the 3M backing plate is a great tool to have and those pads are really nice. The orange compounding pad works really well a bit stiff so you just have to watch the edges but other then that it works really good. The black one is okay, it has a bit more bite then the blue one. I've used it a couple of times and for the most part it works okay but it's really for those vehicles that require the in-between the blue polishing pad and the orange compounding pad
it's nice having it but I personally feel it's almost not necessary...but like I said it's nice having.
