Yeah, my rinse bucket for it had some nasty looking water when I poured it out.

As for speed, I put my Bosch on speed 2 (higher speed), set it to drill for torque, and let'er rip. Yeah, it did spallter around a little, but I usually have on my "detailing clothes" out there, such as 5 year old beer t-shirts and shorts for $10 from Costco.
