The pads I was using there are the Menzerna pads, they are 5inches. I've used the 3M backing plate on Meg's 6.5inch pads and it works just as well, nice even pressure on the surface...oh when you bring the edge of the 6.5inch pad close to a connecting panel the edges are more flexible, it dosent bother me but that's just me some other members may not like this but it works well for me.
