Instead of a lift I have seen some garages with a rectangular hole/cavity in the middle of the floor 5 feet deep ,enough so you can stand up in it and fix you car from under,do you know what I mean?it's an easier and cheaper way than a lift.the space would be big enough for your tools ,light, etc.think about it,it's not a bad idea.

Oh I forgot, how about a few chair and a good size refrigerator to keep beers cold for when your buddies come over, they can sit and have a beer while you are detailing their cars.
Thanks, I'm excited as well! I am not going to go TOO crazy on the garage since we'll be in this house for probably about 5-7 years as I see it now. I am having the standard single electrical outlet put in for now, but then my electrician is going to come back and install the rest when I get a better feel of where I want things to be. There will be no water pulled to the garage as I have access to water at the back of the house.

It's not going to be the craziest garage, but I am going to love it!

And yes, we WILL have a fridge for feer and tables/chairs for sitting. I already have two nice neon signs bought ready for mounting on the walls!
