For washing I do it outside the garage. I hook up garden hose to water heater drain (this is warm water not hot). I drain about 10-20 gallon to get rid the sediment that may be there afterwards it's very clean water. BTW, I only use this to rinse off.
Put rubber surgical glove and thick rubber glove (for washing dishes) on and your 2 buckets with suds and warm water. Now you are ready to wash, this works in Seattle when winter is usually in 30-40.
For detailing, I bring my oil-filler radiant heater into the garage and close the door. Not sure if force fan is OK since there is the glowing part that makes me wonder if it's safe in the garage (just in case there is gasoline fume).
