Product Name: Meguiar's Quik Interior Detailer
Price: $4.99 off the shelf at AutoZone
Size: 16oz (473ml)
Amount used during application: About 8 trigger pumps into a Costco MF towel per section of interior
Dilution ratios: N/A
Container appearance: Typical off the shelf Meguiar's product. Impossible to re-use spray bottle with no shutoff valve on the nozzle. Two curiosities. One is that the Meguiar's phone number and website address on the back label are both from the Netherlands. Product is made in USA however.
www.meguiarseurope.nl if you're curious. There's also a couple typos on the back label.
Directions or Application process:
(From bottle): SHAKE WELL. For best results, apply with Meguiar's Supreme Shine TM Microfiber Towel. Apply product on surfaces cool to the touch. Mist onto one section at a time. Quickly spread product with a sofr, clean, 100% cotton terry cloth towel or micrfiber [sic]. Turn to a dry portion of towel and wipe surface dry. Do not let product self-dry. Return to damp portion of cloth for each initial wipe.
(What I did instead): About 8 trigger pumps into a Costco MF towel per section of interior. Wipe a section (top portion of door panel, half of center console, and so on) down with this. No real need to dry separately.
Ease of use: IMHO if you follow the bottle directions, you'll end up with overspray on the glass.
Smell / Scent: Pleasant, though I can't quite place it. Sort of like laundry detergent I suppose.
Consistency: thin liquid, maybe slightly thicker than straight water. Reasonably slippery, but not like a good detail spray. Feels water based to me
Cleaning Ability: Very surprising actually. My yellow towel came up darker than it has with Einszett Cockpit Premium. I'd call it "more than mild" but if you've got bad stains, I'd look elsewhere.
Lubricity: About what you'd expect.
Suds: N/A
PH: No idea
Appearance: If you're a fan of Cockpit Premium, you're in for a treat with this stuff. Like CP, this stuff leaves no trace of itself behind - just nice clean vinyl and plastic. No shine, no goo, no gloss to speak of
Durability: Don't know yet, but I also don't think that's applicable
Pros: Works as advertised. Cheap, easy to find. Smells nice.
Cons: Spray bottle is not refillable or reusable. Not available in gallon size to my knowledge. Not a "boutique" brand, if that's your thing
Overall Comments: What a pleasant surprise! I'd become a CP user ever since I first tried it. I have to say, I like this just as well, and it costs half the money!
Rating 1-5 (5 being the best): 5. A really great find. I'm pretty sure this will replace Cockpit Premium in my lineup, since it's half the money, and I can drive 5 minutes down the road and find it.
