ago now, but since it came up again...
Jason, we've seen your work and you are one of the best. As you remember, my wife was saying the website really needed a complete overhaul (in order to get the results you desire). And equally important, you should have it done by somebody good in order to match the level of professionalism your work proves you exube. However, she just checked and found there are improvements now, so bravo!
If it were me, I would be overwhelmed by all the meta tags, html, codes, optimization, etc. for DIY web building. Luckily my wife was a good DIY'er and did a lot of it. We were able to bypass paying someone (for this business anyway) though we considered it. But we found my wife was just as good if not better than half the ones out there.
Anyway, here are her suggestions now (because dude, your work deserves to advertised!):
1. In your title put in the most used search words such as "Auto Detailing". For that there is an average of 110,000 searches per month! So that needs to be there even before the name of your company (even though to us it seems so generic and overused).
2. You need to list your target cities in your title, and if there are a lot of cities that you service, put the target cities in the title, but list the rest of them somewhere else on your website as well.
Combining Points #1 and #2 here is the most common searches: 1. Auto Detailing 2. City
Contrarily, having "Auto Salon" in the title is not near as desirable, since that is searched only 2.900 times per month. It's the name of your company, but you can have the welcome, which includes that, after a brief description of what you do that contains more commonly used search words. And "Southeast Michigan" is rarely searched either, so that is why a listing of target cities is more desirable in your title. Hope that makes sense.
3. Go to kijiji usa and sign up with them. It's a free advertising site that ranks high with google (optimizes google searches). We've had many calls directly from this.
