Default 3m UK vs US

Good day everyone. I was so interested in the 3m brand and want to purchase it but i wanted the ones used in UK. Since it's so expensive to purchase it from UK, i tried to ask 3m US of the closest product that matches the Perfect it III product of UK and this is what they said.

Jake,

Thank you for contacting 3M.

There will be differences between the European products listed below
and
the USA versions. This is due to more stringent environmental
reagulations
here in the USA - the European products do not comply with our VOC
rules.

That being said, the Perfect-it 3000 line is very similar and will give
equivalent results.

Compounding:
Use 3M Perfect-it 3000 Extra Cut Rubbing Compound (06060)
Machine Polishing:
Use 3M Perfect-it 3000 Swirl Mark Remover (06064)
Ultrafine Machine Polish (dark cars)
Use 3M Perfect-it 3000 Ultrafine SE (06068)

Hope this helps.

Regards,

So for US customers wanting to US 3m brand, this will be the closest we get to the Perfect it III of UK, although i saw 3m releasing a US version of Perfect It III rubbing compound.

Thanks for reading. Hope this helps.

Here is a letter that they sent me inquiring on Ultrafina...

Alan,
Thank you for contacting 3M. We appreciate your interest in our products.

There is no difference between the Ultrafina Polish sold in Europe vs. the
Ultrafina we sell here. It is directly imported from our manufacturing
site here in the USA, The products are identical.

Regarding the pads, they are basically the same (meaning they are
manufactured to the same specification). The difference is the country of
origin for the foam. The USA version has foam that is made in America, the
European version is manufactured with foam made in Europe, It is slightly
darker in color - that is the main difference. It would not make sense to
ship foam across the ocean.

Thanks for the inquiry.

this is what I was told before also when I called and talked to a Tech advisor...

so to clear the air they are the same...just cheaper here is all...

Al

I did not ask about other products...other than the pads and Ultrafina...

I even called them prior to this a month before and was told the same as in the letter...

I think Steven needs to quit sniffing 3M products during his lunch breaks so that he can give us correct information!

You would think it was two different people adressing those questions. Not good.

now..think they are actually the same except for some small twitches to comply to US regulations... can anyone spare a sample of UK version of 3m and maybe we can compare side by side. (ahem! ahem! nica ahem!) lol

but i think i trust what this guy is saying.. i don't think menzerna in US and UK are not identically the same since again Menzerna would, i think, still has to comply with US regulations. hihi..(i'm insisting on this..)

Back me up here AL.. lol
