Hey guys, I am new here and I thought that it'd be a good idea to start a thread about Megs detailing supplies. Megs have a lot of items that can be purchased OTC and are relatively cheaper than most detailing supplies. Since there are a lot of special names for Megs items, I was hoping that everyone could list the names of their favorite items and what they're for in this thread. For example, Meg's #16 and what it does? I am very new to the detailing and want something that is more affordable and easy to obtain. Thanks in advance!!

fobe46, check out this link for pretty much all acronyms, numeric and others...
Acronym Decoder COMPLETE 11/26/07 - Autopia.org As far as Megs OTC offerings, the ones that I like are: # 34 Final Inspection - I use it for clay lube and for a quick and easy way to left light dirt, smudges and fingerprints. #26 Hi-Tech Yellow Wax - highly underrated wax that looks nice and lasts a decent while, too. (I prefer the liquid version) Gold Class Car wash - simply the best OTC car wash shampoo that is gently on your finish, but cleans well enough to be used on any car. Ultimate Quick Detailer - Really amps up the surface slickness, and has great beading. NXT 2.0 - for me, the best OTC last step product (LSP) as far as looks, fills swirls slightly, and is good at beading/sheeting as well. Foam Applicator pads - I use these for almost every type of wax/sealant application. Hope this helps! Pete edit, forgot to add Scratch X, a very user friendly scratch and swirls remover, recently reformulated to also be used by dual action polisher, as well as b y hand. #2 Fine Cut Cleaner ...I like it, sometimes nicer to use than #83.
#3 - Machine Glaze umm one of my favorite polishes, nicer to apply by machine than #7 #4 heavy cut cleaner?? Mike Phillips uses it on windows never found a use for it myself #5 new car glaze...never found a good use for. Inbetween #3 and #7 #7 show car glaze, nice hand polish #8 Mold and release product, i think it was a heavy wax. #9 Swirl Remover 2.0, oils form #7, does decent correction, nice for being OTC #10 I think it is a plastic polish #16 heavy paste wax #17 another plastic polish #20 Polymer Sealant, one of the most underhyped products ever. #21 Synthetic Sealant - newer sealant less filling and more durability I really like this one! #26 really good OTC wax #34 good bulk QD, better than Last Touch for quick touch ups IMO #38 was a good trim dressing #39 plastic good cleaner #40 good plastic cleaner / protectant #44, good on boats or planes, for the tight spots. #80 really versitile polish #81 good hand polish #82 ...really only good by DA, #9 is better by rotary IMO #83 pretty good cut, somtimes is a PITA when it gumms up #84 pretty good compound, nice with the W7006 #85, I don't really like it that much, I have it but don't use it #86 So1o, dont have enough experience with to let you know. It is a pretty good polish but would be nice if it worked clearer #95 Speed Cut..not that big of a fan #105 ... My fave... best compound i have EVER used. I probs missed a few, those are the ones i have. i dont have #1 ![]() |
