Default Different versions of the Flex?

Hi, I was just wondering if there where different or updated versions of the flex. Because I have noticed that there are some with red plugs and some with black. Also the shipping boxes seem to be different or have changed. The one with the red plug also seems to be more of a bright red while the other more of a fox/darker red.

:edit: Just noticed another thing one has a red cover on top of the polishing head and the other has black.

Red with white box:

Black with mostly red box:

FS: Flex 3401 Polisher (LIKE NEW!)

Or could they just be different for European style plugs/machines. I am not sure what kind of outlets that South Africa uses. So could this just be a European Version and a US version?

Part of it is, YES

N.A. doesn't get the Soft-Vib Handle, from what I can tell.

Thanks for the info guys. I guess there is still a discrepancy on the soft-vib handle then.

Not sure about the handle but I just learnt today that the US versions of the Flex tools are a slightly duller more brown red than the rest of the world. Something or other to do with another US toolmakers copyright on the red colour for their tools. Don't know how much truth there is to it but thats what the local South African agents told me

I so got fcked on this deal. My flex is retarted and broken. Although I have the original backing plate and it hasn't melted so I must be doing something correct. Too bad my handle broke off the day I got it.
