Default Heavy correction with SIP and purple wool

I was wondering what type of serious correction I can do with SIP and a LC purple wool pad on my flex. I know SIP is a great corrective polish but can it take the place of a good compund also? I have a few LC orange pads that I used SIP with on a lightly swirled benz and it came out nice but for heavy correction and bad swirls will SIP cut it? Im going to order some LC purple wool pads from DD next week and I was wondering if I even need a coumpound, I was thinking 3M but maybe just SIP and the wool will be enough. Any suggestions?

I have done some serious correction with my Makita BO6040 and the SIP/Purple Foamed pad combo so I suspect the Flex would do the same since these machines are very similar. I would say the 6040 has a little more torque but not that much more where it would make a big difference.

I just tried the purple foamed wool with the flex and it just didn't work right. I was trying to use it for defect removal and it just didn't work too well. Meguiar's cutting pad worked better, got a better cut, and finished down nicer. (This try was on some really soft Volvo paint though)

Not to say there may be an occasion where wool would be better.
