Mine does get warm. That is where the forced rotation gear housing is, so it will build some heat just form the gear moving. Mine hasn't been too hot to touch though.

When I first got mine I played with it for a few hours...polished the Tub enclosure..and a test hood..and it got slightly warm which is normal..but never hot

Did you have yours on an extension cord..if so was it a heavy guage one..if not it will overheat..any power tool will without a proper extension cord...

Mine gets pretty hot also. I did use a long 50 ft, cheap extension cord on speed 6 the first couple times I used it. Recently I have been using it on speed 4-5 with no problems. I need to get a shorter heavy guage cord....

yes get yourself at least a 12 guage cord..and it will not heat up...the more draw the power tool has the better the pipeline to supply the power....I have a 100 footer..a 50 and a 25 all Industrial type and 12 guage...except the 100 footer..its a 10/3 guage..and no power tool has overheated yet....

the 100 footer is used for just drills and skil saws ...and a small compressor for nail guns...

the rest I use for extractor...PC..rotary...vac...powerwasher....

here is like the 100 footer I have....and the 50 and 25 are the same brand also...

they are cheaper at Lowes also...

Thanks for the info Al.

I am going to check the Costco in my area and see if they have a heavy guage cord. I think someone on another board posted they have a 100ft 12 guage cord. I plan on cutting it up and making one 50 and two 25 ft cords.
