Default Pads

Whats your pad of choice of pad for a Flex? 5.5 or 6.5 CCS or Flat pads?? I've used a orange 6.5 CCS pad earlier this month and it was skipping around a good bit. Maybe I didnt moisten the pad enough. I swapped to a 5in flat pad and had no skipping. Which pad do you guys prefer??

I've got the whole set of the 6.5" CCS pads.

The Orange seems to be a bit finicky, but it could be my lack of use with the Flex, but yes, I've had it hop on me a number of times.

I'm a HUGE fan right now of the green and white CCS pads. Super easy to work with

edited to add size... my bad.

So you can use both the 5.5 and the 6.5 pads on the Flex?

I have used 5.5" lo pro, 5.5" LC CCS, 6" Sonus, and 6.5" LC CCS. They all work, but if I had to pick I would say it depends on your BP size. If you have the original red 6" then you have really no choice but to use the 6.5" pads and they work really well with it. I have used that combo a number of times and never had anything but great results before I got my new 5.5" bp.

Now if you have the updated 5.5" bp I will tell you that I have tried the 5.5" pads, the 6" pads and 6.5" pads and bar none the 6" pad from Sonus works the absolute best! It is the perfect pad size for the 5.5" bp and the pad itself it incredible. It absorbs more polish and I tend to use less product when using the Sonus. The 5.5" lo pros work with it too but for me I like a little more overhang (if that's the correct term) of my pad past the bp than that combo gives me.

Finally, I took my orginal 6" bp and decided to have it modified by a guy at work on the millng machine. He milled it down to 5" for me and now I can use the 5.5" pads with that and that too is an awesome combo. Here is the link for some pics:

Customized FLEX in Action

Reason I did it is I find I can work the 6" and smaller pads better than the 6.5" pads.

I'll have to look into those Sonus pads. I've got the smaller backing plate.
