Default Debit Machine Help

Good Day

It just occured tome that I should probably get a debit card machine for processing debit, visa, mastercard etc. Just wondering what companies folks out there are using for merchant processing services? I dmknow I can set it up with my back but I have heard of other companies out there that do same services for far cheaper. Thanks in advance.

Thanks
MC

Point of sale systems can be very convenient, but they can also be quite costly. Usually you have to pay a fee, rent the unit, and pay a percentage per transaction. One company with portable POS systems is Canadian. Micros. Point of Sale Systems Canada | Canada POS Software | MICROS - Toronto, Toronto, BC, B.C, British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Interior, Winnipeg, Regina, Saskatoon, Kelowna, Kamloops, Victoria, Vancouver Is

You do have to use them quite a bit before they will pay off. I think Paypal offers a pretty simple system...but as usual...it is expensive.

Just an update to this topic...

Here in Dawson Creek anyway but from what I understand... joining your local chamber of commerce allows you member benefits. In my case one of those benefits is to have the POS machine services at a cheaper than the going rate... the rates example in my case are
1.65% on visa / mastercard and .07 cents on all debit card transactions, 22.00/ month for the machine.

Going directly to the suppliers of these services I seen rates above 2% almost 3% and .12 cents per debit transaction.

Not hard to do the math on this one.

what is involved with the chamber of comerce? is there an expected membership fee or minimum donation. If the onnly point of joining is to save money on a pos machine then I would factor that into the cost

I would like to look at as a means of cheap advertising of sorts with benefits. Prorated for this year april 1 - dec 31 @ $138.00.... it is a tax write off to begin with, cheaper negotiated rate with the bank for pos machines, dicounted group health and dental insurance for my buisness and employees.... I think it would be better to link to the benefits page for you to see for yourself. Just the free ad placements in ;ocal papers and tourist magazines is well worth it. another feature I liked is once I have my sales brochure done up she will broadcast fax it to the membership for no additional charges... currently the membership is at 350 businesses...And I can do this several times a year.

Membership Benefits - Dawson Creek & District Chamber of Commerce

Hope this explains alot. I have been involved with Chambers before but this is the best one so far in that they are there genuinley for me.
