Point of sale systems can be very convenient, but they can also be quite costly. Usually you have to pay a fee, rent the unit, and pay a percentage per transaction. You do have to use them quite a bit before they will pay off. I think Paypal offers a pretty simple system...but as usual...it is expensive. |

Just an update to this topic...
Here in Dawson Creek anyway but from what I understand... joining your local chamber of commerce allows you member benefits. In my case one of those benefits is to have the POS machine services at a cheaper than the going rate... the rates example in my case are 1.65% on visa / mastercard and .07 cents on all debit card transactions, 22.00/ month for the machine. Going directly to the suppliers of these services I seen rates above 2% almost 3% and .12 cents per debit transaction. Not hard to do the math on this one. MC |

what is involved with the chamber of comerce? is there an expected membership fee or minimum donation. If the onnly point of joining is to save money on a pos machine then I would factor that into the cost
