Detailing Bliss Pro Detailer Announcement

Well I have the pleasure of introducing a good friend that has made the plunge to the professional detailer league here at Detailing Bliss. Here is an interview that was conducted with the intention to get to know Deep Gloss Auto Salon (MotorCity) better, enjoy.

Lets start off with telling us a little about your self?
My Name is Jason, I am 32 years old and I reside in Southeast Michigan – about 30 minutes outside of Detroit.

How many vehicles do you own and drive and how often are they detailed?
I own one vehicle. Due to living in a climate where we are lucky to get more than a few consecutive days without rain, keeping my vehicle clean is a part time job! I do a full detail in the spring with light polishing after that as needed. I wash at least once a week sometimes twice a week even if it’s snowing!

What is your childhood dream vehicle and why?
My favorite vehicles now and as a child are the Acura NSX and Ferrari’s.

What got you started in to detailing?
I believe in taking care of my possessions. Plus I have always found that working on my car whether it be under the hood or on the paint very relaxing and therapeutic.

On top of that my Dad is a car guy so I caught the “bug” from him.

How long have you been detailing at the Pro level?
I think that when a person has a solid skill set and is constantly searching for ways to improve the craft, that makes them a pro BUT according to Uncle Sam I became a pro when I incorporated Deep Gloss Auto Salon at the beginning of 2007.

How did you learn to machine polish?
I learned to machine polish by taking baby steps. Starting off with very mild corrections and slowly building up to chasing after the perfect finish

What was your first machine rotary or DA?
DA

Wax or Sealant?
Umm sealant with a nuba topper please!

What is your favorite Wax and why?
So far my favorite waxes are Supernatural and P21S 100%.

Both provide a phenomenal look and are very user friendly with the edge going to Supernatural for ease of application.

What is your favorite Sealant and why?
My go to for quite awhile was Duragloss 105 TPP but I really think Zaino is about to dethrone the 105!!

What is your favorite make and model of car to detail and why?
Anything that is loved by the owner. When the owner loves the car it will be well taken care of which allows me to focus my attention on beautification instead of crude cleaning!

Plus, when the owner has an emotional connection to the vehicle and you restore it to it’s glory, there is an instant connection made between you and the customer.

What is your favorite colour to detail and why?
I love black because of the challenge it presents and the huge reward of looking at perfect black paint work. When you see black paintwork that is pristine it really stands out from the rest of the herd and you can’t help but notice and admire it.

Do you like Soccer? What’s your favorite team?
Yes I do and my favorite team is the Thunderbolts – the team my son plays on… GOO THUNDER BOLTS!!

Where do you go to relax/holidays?
Holidays – what are those???

My all time perfect way to relax on holiday is to go anywhere that I can be away from cell phones, computers etc while spending time with my son.

Do you like walks on the beach? (you have to answer this one!!!!)
I grew up on the beach.. for the better part of my adolescence I was on the Venice beach boardwalk getting into trouble… So yeah, I love the beach and all it offers!

Welcome to the pro level Jason and look forward to the future

Thank to Carlos for setting up what I feel to be a great forum to come and learn information on our craft.

I look forward to continuing to learn from the vast wealth of knowledge as I feel that it is imperative to never stop learning in order to stay "above the fray" as that is the only way to be successful.

Thank you all very much for the warm welcome to this level of DB membership.

I hope my screen name change from MotorCity to my Business Name Deep Gloss Auto Salon doesn't throw anyone off.
