I'm happy to announce yet another DB Certified Dealer to the forum. Like the previous Dealers here is an introductive interview so members can get to know the new DB Certified Dealer.

Tell us a little about your self?
My name is Justin Davis. I'm 28 years old and I'm from Westville, Il. I've pretty much lived here all of my life except for when I went to Western Illinois University. I married my high school sweetheart that I've been with for 12 years. We have 2 wonderful sons, Hayden age 5 and Drew age 2.

How was Obsessive Detail born? What inspired you to start the business?
I've been detailing on the side since I was about 15 years old. I started detailing for family and friends and then it just kept getting bigger. This year was my first year detailing full-time. My friends and family always told me I was obsessive about detailing, hence the name Obsessive Detail.

We started carrying products a little over a year ago. We started out with Poorboy's and added lines from there. Detailing and product sales have worked out pretty well.

What piece of detailing kit do you think every detailer should have in their arsenal? (excluding the obvious stuff like wash mitts etc.)
I think the most important thing a detailer could have is knowledge. It is very important to have knowledge of the products being used plus knowing how to properly use the tools and equipment. Any person can wash a car, it takes knowledge and skills to be a detailer.

I think the Porter Cable polisher is an essential tool to have. The PC is a great starter tool that leads to learning different machines.

What are your current favorite brands and why?
My favorite brand is Optimum. I love their whole product line and use their products a ton. Optimum No Rinse is my main washing method, I also use Poli Seal, Opti Seal, and Spray Wax quite a bit. My go to polishes/swirl removers are the Optimum line and Menzerna, these all produce excellent results.

Also the Obsessive Detail line because the products work great and also because it is my line!

What do you do on your spare time?
I like to spend quality time with the kids and family. We like to play sports, go to Illini football and basketball games, and just have fun. I belong to a Ford Mustang club, the family and I attend many cars shows and club events. I also workout almost everyday, this is a great stress reliever and I love to stay fit.

What are the future plans for the store?
Obsessive Detail is still in the startup stages. Right now we do mobile detailing with our trailer, I want to add a van as another mobile unit plus build a shop in the summer. The shop will have a few bays plus a showroom for products.

As for the website, I want to have that professionally done. I've tried to build the site with minimal knowledge, I know a pro could do some much better. I'm also going to add some more product lines as well as some more detailing accessories.

Lastly, I really need to hire a couple of employees this year. Detailing is getting busier and busier by the week and the website is growing rapidly also, a couple helping hands would be a great addition.
