Well yet another great announcement for the forum, this is great news for members and for the forum but most importantly the members. I’ve been talking with some online detailing stores to sponsor the forum and I’m very please announce that Detailing Bliss has now two sponsors.
One is Detailiers Domain, owned and operated by Phil. I personally have ordered from Phil and have nothing but good things to say about his service he provides. His customer service is great and I have enjoyed the one on one interaction and not the leave a voice mail run around. Every time I needed to get a hold of him I would just pick up the phone and he would be there at the other end. I’m very pleased that is now a Detailing Bliss Certified Dealer. As a form of introduction to the forum and its members, but to be honest if you don’t know Phil by now this is a perfect way to get to know the person. I conducted an introduction interview with Phil and here is some information I thought was good to share with you: Tell us a little about your self? I am married with a great wife and we have a 4 year old daughter. During the time from middle school on I have worked for a detailer and trained under a guy that was subcontracted by Ferrari NA, then in high school, I worked part time for one of the larger Honda dealers doing new car prep. Followed by my time in BU I worked for one of the best dealers at the time, it was actually where Jay Leno started, Foreign Motors West in Natick, MA, there I did back end support and dealer prep etc, (they sold Rolls Royce, MB, BMW, Land Rover, and Bentley. After college I left the auto business and went into supply chain management. Working at several privately held companies. Then in about 2000-01 I started my reselling business in computer chips. This is what I am still primarily doing as well as working on growing Detailer’s Domain. In my free time I enjoy detailing my cars, and hanging out with my friends and most of all spending time with my family. How was Detailers Domain born? What inspired you to start the business? Detailer’s Domain was started from my friends at an Audi/Porsche/VW tuning shop, I work with my other company at night therefore I really did nothing during the day, my friends knew I detailed before at dealers, in college, etc so they asked me to start detailing their customers’ cars for money. Thru this I contacted Adam’s Polishes because I saw what a few detailers did with their products and that’s how it all started. Next thing you know I have a full blown detailing business as well I’m bringing in 85rd again and I believe I was the first in the US to carry SIP. As well as a reseller for Swissvax NA. What detailing kit do you think every detailer should have in their arsenal? (excluding the obvious stuff like wash mitts etc.) PC, with backing plate CCS Green and CCS White pad with Menzerna SIP and 85rd. Some type of Carnauba paste wax because I like a deep, wet, gloss over a mirror finish that sealant gives What are your current favorite brands and why? Swissvax and Menzerna….Menzerna I think is by far the best compounds/polishes you can get. What do you do on your spare time? Detail cars, spend time with the family. What are the future plans for the store? To continue to search for the ultimate products that I can offer my fellow detailers. I don’t want to become a store that carries everything, just a store that has the best products out there. The second Detailing Bliss Certified Dealer a very good friend of mine who has gone so far out of his way to satisfy my thirst for detailing products and I constantly phone to get me products is E-shine owned and operated by Chris. What can I say about Chris that most of you don’t know about the guy, very down to earth person, his commitment to serve the customer is top notch (this I personally tested by ordering products he didn’t carry but was willing to get the products just to satisfy me). Chris has been helping me out for majority of this year, anything you need he will get for you. Again a form if introduction to the forum and the members I conducted an introduction interview with Chris and here is how it went: Tell us a little about your self? I am 31yrs old, married with 2 kids (boys). I work mainly as a Mechtronix Engineer for the Auto industry designing automated assembly lines. I currently work for one of the “Big Three”. I was born and bred a piston head and most if not all hobbies have a motor on them! My boys are following suit! I have been detailing for about 12 years and find it relaxing, a time to bond with metal machines. How was e-Shine born? What inspired you to start the business? I was living and working in Tennessee at a Saturn Car plant installing a new assembly line. I lived in the USA for several years. It was in this timeframe I decided to get serious about detailing and educate myself on proper product selection, application and combinations. I had just finished building my Black Shelby Charger and planned on competing in several shows. It wasn’t long until I built a sense of taste for car care products and was able to make educated evaluations of the products I was using. I first stepped up from Meguiar’s/Mothers to products like 3M. That leap proved to be a good one but didn’t past long. I told myself "There has to be better products out there, I don’t care what they cost". Suddenly a new world opened up and I found Autogeek and Autopia. I then started using a Porter Cable, 3m abrasives (Were actually pretty good) and Klasse Twins. My paint was the talk of SDAC (Shelby Dodge Automobile Club). It was the deepest, wettest black paint you ever laid your eyes on... I started playing around with different brands and detailing every friends/family vehicle I can just to try different combos (Sound familiar?? LOL). Time came to move back to Canada. Our moving company lost a few boxes and sure enough, my detailing supplies were one of em. I bet they just mishandled them; they broke and make a big mess so they just said they were "lost". I figured, oh well, I'll just buy new stuff. I first wanted to at least get the Klasse Twins back. I searched for Klasse in Canada and found nothing, heck, I then searched for any "Boutique product and still came up with only one store in Canada selling it, but at a huge markup. I did however read many posts where other Canadians were asking "Where can get Klasse in Canada?” I was quickly reminded what it is like to buy things in Canada. Around the same time my wife and I had a newborn and were deciding what my wife would do, should she go back to work and have some stranger watch Kyle? It just so happened we were talking about this right after I just had a fit about not being able to find Klasse in Canada. I bet you see where this is going....After a few weeks of trying to find a contact for Klasse (Other distributors simply turn their backs when you ask for this info...) I finally received a call. We struck a deal with Klasse to be the SOLE Authorized dealer of Klasse in Canada. I will never forget turning to Erin, "Babe, I am buying $10K worth of Klasse". That was the birth of eShine. We put up a cheesy web page and shortly after learning a few things about selling online, started pumping Klasse into the Canadian Market. What detailing kit do you think every detailer should have in their arsenal? (excluding the obvious stuff like wash mitts etc.) I always recommend to start simple! I have many customers who read forums and get overwhelmed. They are scared to buy something that others don't like or not buying the best product in the world first crack. Without being product specific I recommend to start with at least a two step system (Polish then wax/sealant) and a Clay Bar setup. Sounds obvious but most customers think a Polish and Wax are the same thing! Again, I always push "Proper product combination and application is more important than the products themselves". What are your current favorite brands and why? I find myself using Klasse Twins quite a bit. I just find it very versitile. If used properly (THIN THIN THIN) they are killer. If I am working on a dark color like black I will often either replace the Sealant with a Carnauba or top the sealant with a Carnauba the next day. I have simply never used a product that gives no surprises, it performs great on any color. For swirl removal, Nothing beats Menzerna period. (Actual Menzerna products, not "Licenced by Menzerna") What do you do on your spare time? When I do find spare time I have a lot of hobbies to fill it with. -I love customizing vehicles; I am very talented and have a great shop to do so in. I also attend many cruise nights and do a lot of drag racing. - I follow my roots and am one of the only members in my family who continue the tradition of Salami and Wine making. I call the winter "Sausage Season". I make Salami, Pepperoni, Beef Jerky, Fruit Wines, red and white... You name it, I make it. -ATV'ing, I am lucky enough to live in an area where trails are plentiful. Every Friday me and friends meet up and spread hundreds of kilometers in an afternoon. We stop for lunch and then all head home. I can't wait till my oldest (now only 4yrs) is big enough to upgrade his 50cc to a 90cc, then he can come along. What are the future plans for the store? As you know eShine is a family run business. It started as a small thing we were doing on the side but our passion and dedication has tuned it into our main priority. An easy answer would be to expand but we have plans on making eShine into more than just a store. Most customers are new at detailing and crave info, I plan on expanding our articles section and making eShine a very informative site. We also have a total redesign planned this winter. We will keep the easy navigation there but just dress it up with new logo's, artwork etc. I believe I have reached my artistic limits on the page and need to have a professional work his magic. As far as products, We will be very selective on what products we bring in. Canada is a different market and flavor of the week products do sell...for a week. Lately it seems the boutique market has went from using only top quality products to basically trying anything and everything, always searching for something they will never find, the perfect product. Lastly, we will be expanding our own Riccardo brand. This brand will be a high end brand and reflect whet we consider a boutique product should be. Besides the Claybars, the other products are and will be custom made for us with quality being priority, these products will not simply be re-labeled products! Now having www.detailersdomain.com and www.eshine.ca sponsoring the forum is wonderful news because of the following reasons. Detailing Bliss originates from Canada, Calgary to be exact and even though Canada is slowly but surely making its way to become a great detailing city it’s very comforting to know that one of the forum sponsors is from Canada as well. For members like my self that have ordered and continue to order many products from the US, the forum now has Phil who resides in the US who is more then willing to step up and help any member out with what ever detailing product he or she requires. No matter where you reside in the world, these two forum sponsors will insure you receive your products safe and most importantly there customer service is what makes them wonderful to deal with. The programmers are busy working to have the company’s logos up on the forum and will shortly be posted up. If you have any question or if you just wish to welcome the two new Detailing Bliss Certified Dealers to the forum as sponsors feel free to do so. Dealers will be posting there own special events on the “Detailing Bliss Certified Dealers Announcements” forum. Dealers should note that they are responsible to distribute discount codes as they see fit. |

Glad you guys like the interview, I thought this would be a great way to introduce them to you guys (members).
To be honest though the nice thing is that I've dealt with both of these guys and I enjoy dealing with them and having them be a part of the forum was a bonus. Some of you have dealt with both of these guys and know the type of service they provide, so I don't need to brag about them so much but I do highly recommend them. To Phil and Chris, a big thank you for taking the time to answer the questions Now come in and take a ![]() Like I said members will definitely benefit from this little merge and it's one more step forward for the forum....there are other news coming up too, but all in good time. Just working out minor details..forum almost has all of it's features opened ![]() Last edited by Nica : 11-04-2007 at 05:11 PM. |
