Tell us a little about your self?

My name is Ketil Falstad, and I live with Christina, my girlfriend. And have one daughter, a dog called Trixi. Okey, so no kids, just a dog. I am 20 years old and are currently studying to be a accountant. Always loved money, and to handle money right. So accountant would be the right thing for me.

I live in Norway, and was born here. My hometown is called Levanger, and its in the middle of Norway.

My hobbies is detailing, cars and golf. In the summer nothing is like detailing a car, then head out for a golf match in the evening.

How was Scandic Shine born? What inspired you to start the business?

I have always been in to detailing, and started to wash cars when I was 8 years old. So its something that I have had in me. But here in Norway is almost non webshop or shops that have quality car care products. Its mainly two lines, and they are Maguire’s and Autoglym. But both are high priced.

So I was always ordering from US, but hated the waiting time. And the market in Norway was open for a car care webshop. So that was what made Scandic shine to be borne. Also a dream about starting something own. Next summer I will also start up Scandic detailing, and start detailing cars full time, that’s the plan anyway.

What piece of detailing kit do you think every detailer should have in their arsenal? (excluding the obvious stuff like wash mitts etc.)

A detailer should have a good DA or Rotary machine for some correction work. Also a good polish/compounding and a sealant/wax.

I will always help my customers to choice the right products for them. To many get all sucked into all the products, and don’t have a clue what to buy.

What are your current favorite brands and why?

Favorite brands, hard one. I would say Menzerna. Chemical guys and pinnacle.

Menzerna because they make the best polish out there, and I have tried most of them.

Chemical guys because they are really good, but not to pricey. And we don’t just need products that are high priced.

Pinnacle because they make great products. Many of their products are my go to products, and will be for a long time.

What do you do on your spare time?

On my spare time, do I have any? Haha. I love to do some detailing, just to relax alone. Just me and the metabo.

Also do some golfing, or trips with my Girlfriend.

USA or Canada is on my next to visit list.

What are the future plans for the store?

Like you can see, the sites is just on Norwegian now, but will come in English to. But that will take a bit of time.

I also got a forum, so the customers can ask questions about the products, or just look at articles and guides. I want Scandic Shine to be a information center for detailing. Maybe I will have a detailing class in the future, who knows. Anyway, I have many plans. But I will keep the store at ground, and don`t take in all products I find. Just the ones I know are really good, and top quality.

I have used many hours on this, and it take a lof of time and writing To become a reseller it takes that you buy for a good amount of money! And have a company.

pirex my man I knew there was something that I always liked about you other than just your awesome detail work - GOLF! Before I started doing so much detailing this summer I was playing to about a 6 handicap. How about you how do you play? I bet there are some awesome courses in Norway! Congrats on the new business and teaming up with an outstanding forum. I hope you have tons and tons of success! And if you make it to the States swing by NC and I'll get us on some of the Pinehurst Courses, I know some folks!
