Default hey everyone

hmm iv been part of the forum for maybe 2 weeks now and havent introduced myself yet. silly me.
im not all that new to detailing iv mostly been doing interior details for the most part.
im still a little fresh on the exterior detailing thing tho. i was mostly detailing my own car's exterior. my father made it some sort of tradition when his sons would turn 20 he would give that one a mercedes. some might find it strange. by brother was given a 1991 Black 560SEL. car was dealer maintained from day one. paint is still original. every part is original mercedes benz. so that was a hell of a gift i would say. my father after giving that to my brother bought a 1996 S500. brand new like the 560 when he purchased it. he has always been weird about mercedes. i just turned 20 in october and the s500 was given to me. and i relized that it was a lil bit more than a car. hard to explain but some might understand what im trying to get at. these cars have been cared for with the up most certainty. so i decided that i need to kep that car looking as good as it does if not better than when it was handed to me. so i joined this site looking for tips, advice, information. to keep this car looking the best is possibly could for its age. there are very light swirls in the paint. but not many. i have to look hard to see them. but i dont want them there. as im sure none of the folks on this site would want in there cars as well. please forgive me for being terrable at writing storys. i studied law enforcment not literature and writing. so bear with me. any advice helps. thanks for hearing my half asses story guys. later

Welcome to Detailing Bliss yoyoyomofoe

Congrats on your vehicle, Merc vehicles are and have been incredable vehicles. I personaly still like the old school Merc, not sure why but mabe it's just the stile...dont get me wrong the new styles look good as well but I still have a soft spot for the old school vehicles.

As for removing the light swirl/micro marring, what products do you curently have? I'm a huge fan of Menzerna and my Metabo rotary but there is nothing wrong with a Porter Cable, Flex..ect..ect.

Well if you happen to have Menzerna 85RD or perhaps 106FF that should help remove the light micro marring that you seem to curently have.

i agree with nica. old mercedes are the TRUE mercedes. i love my brothers 126 body 560sel
but i cant be more happy with my 96. 140 body mercedes and the last year of the older body sl mercedes were the last of the true built mercedes benz cars. i should take a few shots of the interior of my brothers car. he took every part of the dash, seats, center consol, and door panels apart. and cleaned everything. took him a while. but it kind of showed me how it benefits you having doing that. my brother is actually certified in mercedes benz cars 1956-2000 if anyone has a question about them im sure he could find an answer if he doesnt already have one. but as for the interior of his car it looks as if it was never sat in. ever. no dust or anything. i look at it and im like put in a daze its so clean. but the older mercedes cars i personally think give off more of an aura then the newer ones. especailly if you know the crasmanship that went into the cars. everything about them is like it was built from tank parts its all solid. but you can expect that with most older cars. both of them were maintained by him. im learing alot about my benz from him which is great.
