Thanks guys, I am sure I will give it a go myself as I love working on my car.

Sneek and Calgarydetail - Thanks for the offer! I would probably want some supervision with that polisher thing so whenever you guys are done exams and are looking for a car to detail....

BTW I am definitely going to give that wax a go this weekend! If nothing else it'll protect the paint until I have time to do a good job detailing her. Just curious, but is there such a thing as using too much wax?

well there are a few school of thought on wax.

1. Nope, you want to apply it thin to make for easy removal but there is no way to piut on tomnay levels (i have heard of 20+coats ofnattys on a car)

2. some belive yup you sure can, after to many coats the paint starts to either go yellow or the light cannt pass through the wax properly amc cam distort the look

3. Dosent matter, the oils and solvents from the previous laywer will emolsiphy the previous layer so it dosent matter...

i am persona on the 1st school of thought. Im sure there IS a a limit but i have yet to find it... heck you could wax everyeweek
