Default Boar's Hair Brush and ONR anyone?

I really want to keep up on my car this winter and am thinking that the BHB would be better than a mitt or sponge for ONR washes, especially on a salty car with road grime. Has anyone tried this?

With the big brush being $55 I thought I would ask first.

In all honesty, I don't think you'd be able to remove all the contaminants with a BHB and ONR. The bristles are very soft and would require a bit of pressure to thoroughly clean your vehicle.

FWIW, I only use my BHB wheel brush for well maintained wheels.

Agreed. I use the coin-op wash (water only) to remove the heavy salt and grime and then finish with an ONR wash at home.

I agree. I can't see the boar's hair brush working well with ONR.

I stick with a mitt and the two bucket method and have had really good results.

I've had success with my BHB and ONR, but only for use as a maintenance wash on paint with a 3+ month old layer of DG105 topped with CG's 50/50. Sheepskin mitt on the top half of the car, BHB on the bottom. I do plan on seeing how effective the combo is in the winter. My plan is to use a PW (mine or coin op) to remove any large particles, then the BHB + ONR; I'll use a ShMitt GS wherever needed.

When I first use the BHB with ONR, I use light pressure and a long sweeping motion so just the tips of the bristles are touching the paint. After I've gone over the one section like that, I rinse the brush, dip for more solution and then massage that same section using more pressure.
