Default Convertible top cleaing

Im looking for info/ what products to use on a bmw m3s soft top. I washed it down last night with just a hose and it looks like someone took a brush to it. It wasnt like this prior to washing it. All i used to wash it was water coming out of hose on high pressure. Via my thumb anyway in the "brushed" spots its more of a grey than the rest of the top. Also the top is very grainy and shedding. How could a hose cause so much damage. Anyway to fix it. Its a car Im doing a full detail on. Interior and full paint correction.

Well the way I've been doing it is I've just been using car wash soap and a dedicated convertible top brush to brush the top with the car wash soap solution. Then I would protect it by spraying it down with 303 High Tech Fabric Guard. I'm not quite sure if there's anything that I'm doing in that process that is incorrect or if the products I'm using are incorrect so feel free to correct me anyone.

Others have used Raggtop with great success and I still have yet to try it out.

what you suggested sounds good to me

I am one of those who have been using RaggTop fabric cleaner and protectant. I like it too. But the aerosol can needs some getting used to... plus a lot of masking for areas you don't want to protectant to stick to (i.e. glass, body panels)

Have also tried the BMW impregnator liquid. Also good results. This one you have to mix in the correct amount of water and then apply it to the fabric top after it is cleaned.
