He might not be able to smell it now. I'm sure when he gets his vehicle back the smell will definitely will be different, and more of a fresh smell now.

sorry to hijack. But glad you made it over here man.

On the topic of smoke he will be able to tell if the vehicle smells clean. I also recommend an ozone machine, and a deep thorough cleaning of the vehicle by shampooing the carpets mats all plastics leathers seats headliners ect... And einzette ac cleaner. The actual name escapes me at the moment.
