How often should someone polish a car? I assume that you don't want to do it too often as you are cutting into the clear coat each time it is done. Should it only be done when swirls and other blemishes can be seen?

Typically full details are done once a year or twice at the most. The better maintained it is, the longer you can go without having to polish it.
