When compounding with wool, I always go over 1800 rpm, but with no pressure.

I have/use both PG and OC. Both of them seem like heavy weight medium polishes to me. Very similar cut and finish. PG dusts like *crazy*, though. OC has a long working time, PG gets it's work done quite a bit faster.
