Default Protecting Areas

I was just reading on the autopia in the how to section on polishing(haven't looked at it in awhile) and was reminded when polishing with a machine that it can get quite messy and was wondering why I haven't heard that much here. They even say to go as far as protecting things in your garage that you don't want to get messed up. I'm just curious on why I haven't heard much of that on here or see pictures of it.

They make it seem like you would have to tape off the whole entire car like you were going to paint it!

A couple of things:
If you're spraying the walls of your garage..WAY TOO MUCH PRODUCT! (Although you'd probably be fun to go drinking with, LOL).
The time invested in taping saves time when the wheel is in your hand.
cheers

That is what I was thinking, you must be doing something wrong if its damaging things in your garage. They almost make it seem like you need a paint booth!

If you spread the polish with the pad before turning it on, sling is kept to a minimum.

yes I agree with what's being said. If your covering items in side your garage/area of detailing there is something wrong....besides there is a good technique on how not to splatter, I'm refering to how to pick up polish that is applied directly on the paint.
