Alright. im an amerature detailer. i love to keep my car looking as good as possible. Im 19, and dont have a lot of money, so please dont suggest $300 waxes lol.
Problem: im used to mothers/meguiars products(read:noob), and somewhat wary of more expensive things and ordering online. my car is clay barred to mmy liking, has some micro marring that im not too concerned about, and the clearcoat is separating(or something. white flakes all over, mostly on the drivers side, looks like someone cracked the paint apart with their thumbnail, pretty sure its unrepairable) anyways. im looking to step up my shine. keep in mind i drive a 2000 ford focus SE, and it was a rental, then went through 2 teenage chicks before me. in other words it went thru 7 years of its life without wax. ive removed all the oxidation and stuff, but i want that wet look. i have acheived it somewhat though many layers of wax. i use a synthetic(either mothers reflections, or turtle wax ice) followed by some random carnuba. heres a list of what ive done on my car: clay bar, mothers step 1 prewax cleaner, step 2 sealer & glaze, meguiars pro show car glaze, meguiars color x, mothers reflections, meguiars NXT gen 2.0, turtle wax ice syn. wax. meguiars crystal something r other, and meothers carnuba. sounds like a lot, most of it is probably fairly redundant, and/or undid the last layer, or whatnot, but it was more for my benefit than the car's(its fun to detail.) k theres my noob autobiography, remember it and thank god ull never hear it again lol. anyways ive heard of Klasse high gloss sealer, jetseal 109(i think), and pete's 53. are any of these availible in stores?(im just outside of baton rouge, louisiana). are they quality products? anything better for bout the same price(although i dont know how much any of them cost lol) please dont use abbreviations for products. ive browsed the forum and dunno what most of u r talking about. any help, suggestions, or anything is most appreciated! sorry for the long post, but i was hoping it'd help u help me, knowing what my wants/needs r. edit h, i applied the different layers of wax over a 2 month period., probably 2-3 different layers with one synthetic wax, then one carnuba wax per layer.Last edited by psychojuggalo17 : 05-25-2008 at 01:13 AM. |

Psychojuggalo17 you are cracking me up. I will do what I can for a few things on your list. First with the abbreviations if you just click on the abbreviation it should tell you what we are talking about. I will find the thread on it and send it to you by PM. Do you have any pictures of the drivers side door you are talking about. I will let the boys answer your questions because I have not used the products you are talking about. I am sure a few pics would help them out. I am 99% sure you can't get those products in a local store.
Welcome to DB!!!! |

I am curious on what your goal is.
You have spent some money on all the products you have mentioned. It sounds like your paint is not in very good shape (pics will help) so that is going to limit your results if you are looking for that new car appearance. For your vehicle, the products you have should give you decent results and spending more money on waxes is not going to make much difference. |

ill work on pics, i only have my 2 megapixel camera fone tho...
my goal is a deep, wet look, which i have achieved to some degree. i was hoping these products would make it that much better. im not planning on entering car shows or anything, i just want it to look better. the clearcoat issue isnt noticeable until ur close. |
