Default What wax...

I am looking at getting a wax that is decent but doesn't cost an insane amount of $$$, something I could use as a sort of premium LSP over the regular ones.

I have narrowed it down to a few that are locally available here in SA and within budget....sort of

Pete's 53
Smartwax Concours
Autoglym High Definition

Alternatively would it maybe be better to get something in the budget Swissvax or Zoo*mole range ?

To what extent have you polished your car? I would spend more time polishing the car to get the paint nearly perfect-then your choice of LSP won't matter. On a very well prepped car, it is very hard to see any tangible differences between LSPs although in Dave KGs recent test, most people thought BOS really stood out. See Phil at Detailers Domain if you are interested.

Hi 911Fanatic,

It is more for my customers than for myself, just wanting to add a 'special' type wax option to the list instead of the regular products we use.

I have read the posts and tests from DaveKG and agree with the findings, the prep is the definately more important than the LSP. That said however some people just want something a bit more 'exclusive' as such, hence me asking what options you guys would recommend that won't break the bank

Well sounds like you already know about preparation so no need for me to harp about preparation..as for which wax? That's a tough one..but there is nothing wrong with Victoria Wax

You could also go with Zymol...hmmmm...which one though... Concors is good...pricey..but good, Glasur is good too..mmmm..oooh I have to say this a tad pricey but well worth the money Vintage

Well just my

What kind of longevity are you looking for? Will this wax be going over top a sealant just to add a little to the finished look?

Pete's 53 is very good and looks incredible over a sealant especially Jetseal. Now if you are wanting a great LSP go with Rubbish Boys Original Edition or if you want something a little more name recognizable by clients go with Zymol Glasur. See if you can get in on the Rubbish Boys deal with Ben and at what cost because I'm telling you Rubbish Boys Original Edition will knock your socks off.

Supernatural has a great "tin" if you are trying to impress the customers, and is also a great wax if you want to spend that much.

Thanks for the input guys.

The wax will be mainly as a topper over a sealant for that little bit extra as 911 put it.

JL, Pete's is definately looking like a good option, tell me more about the Rubbish Boys deal...I don't know who Ben is sorry !
