Thumbs up Zaino Z8

I couldn't let it sit in the cupboard any longer!! I just had to use some!! Not a full Zaino detail, just fancied popping some Z8 on the car after a wash this afternoon... and was I in for a pleasent little surprise.

Going over two layers of Dodo Supernatural, an impressive LSP in its own right, I noticed a definite enhancement to the gloss and reflections on application of the Z8 - which shocked me, as its just a spray sealent! And I'm a cynical soul with LSPs...

So I treated it like ***** Field Glaze... Spray on a tiny amount, spread around, turn mf and buff dry. Dead easy to do, no streaks and used hardly any to treat the whole 60. And it without doubt in my eyes blew Field Glaze into the weeds - as it actually did offer a little extra something over the top looks wise to the finish, which is very impressive stuff indeed for a product which is just a spray sealent. If this is what I am to expect from Zaino, I cant wait to do the full monty to the Volvo!!

Pics for fun...

Pics never the best to show the differences, but what strikes me is that there was an ehancement to the gloss, a slightly glassy look left over the top of the paint. Nice also to see that one year on, the paint remains swirl free with lovely finish and flake ping... Not bad, considering I dont have a pressure washer to prefoam winter dirt off, just a lambswool mitt and a lot of care with the two bucket method.

Happy with Z8 - if the rest of the range improve this much, I'll have defected away from the wax camp!

Zaino is one of the best polymers out there, despite what DavidB would have you believe, it is without doubt the most durable. After many years using Klasse I was given a sample of Zaino and that's the only polymer sealant I use now.

If you liked the way Z-8 looks try Z-CS

There is a vg thread on DW on Zaino application

Yes, Z8 and all of Zaino's products continue to amaze me. I have not found aqnything better at ANY price point or technology.

The paint on that Volvo looks amazing. Love the way the flake pops.

I do like that car's paint... Black Sapphire... Can you believe I actually turned down a better equipped 60 at an equivalent price because I preferred the colour of this one!! As a detailer, I just had to have black! (That, and this one is pretty damn well equipped as it stands - I really didn't need the electrically folding head rests, or adjustable suspension on a motorway cruiser)

Have you tested Zaino against Ultima. I have seen many results where the Ultima was outlasting the Zaino...

Dave, How long has the dodo been on the car? Do you think there was an imrovement in slickness? Sometimes I find the paint feels slicker the next day after Z8.

As you noted using very little will keep the chance of streaking to a minimum. Also the surface should be cool. Shake that bottle well before and during use. If streaking still occurs, you can cut Z8 with 10% distilled water as it is very concentrated.

How do you apply ZCS? Does it make a noticable diference in both looks and feel?

I have to agree with that statement..

Also the diference in looks is immediate after one application.
