After several emails to 3M about availability of the sought after UK 3M backing plate, I finally got this as a response:

But I can't tell if it's foam or just rubber!!!!

Ok, I clicked the link then hit the click to enlarge hyperlink, stuck my nose up to my 24" widescreen monitor, and have to say that it looks like just rubber.

Definitely looks like rubber... grab one from Phil while they last! I did notice that the 3M UK BP is 1/2" to 3/4" smaller in diameter than my Meg's W64 BP. I do like that the 3M UK BP has much more give to it, it's really nice!

The UK plate is about 4 3/4".

Its just Rubber, I had one before, its better than the LC ones but nothing compared to the Foam ones.

I think Phil is backordered on the 3m Pads, grab them when he has them in stock because there is usually a long lead time with those as with 106FA

I put my order in for one a couple days ago. Phil promptly wrote back. He said they are on back order and more should been in a week , I think he said.
