I'm thinking about getting a leaf blower.
Which is better to use with detailing?

Gas or Electric.

My idea is this. You're gonna have a ext cord run out to the car for your vac and flex/pc/rotary and gas is so freakin high right now it might be more economical.

Most of the electrics i've seen at WM blow at 200 mph.


Give me some opinions please!

I dont think Id use a gas powered leaf blower on a car because of the oil/ gas and other crap that can come out.

electric hands down. I heard a film develops on the car and in addition the fumes the gas gives off...

FWIW Heath, my Craftsman 12-gallon, 5.0 peak HP, wet/dry vacuum doubles as a blower. Just thought I'd let ya know buddy.

you can get a cheap leaf blower at wal mart...26.99..this thing dries a car fast...great machine for the price...best tool I bought for drying....


I have a gas one..but I would not use it as it sucks in the exhaust also....

I would have to agree I'd go with electric but just curious why not just get an air compressor, that's what I'm using and I'm quite pleased with it. My only complaint is that I need a biger one now

I bought a leaf blower to dry off cars and never had good luck with it. It blows hard, but it's not very concentrated.

However, my Ridgid is fantastic, blow very hard and is super precise. The leaf blower is collecting dust, whilst the Ridgid is hard at work!
