Oh if you get a black MDX...actually I wonder if the clear coat is this soft on the rest of the MDX, I would assume so but this is the first new MDX that we have detailed and I mean it's bad enough to have black but combined with the soft clear coat that's just wrong but I'm curious about there clear coat...I never expected it to be this soft to be honest....I mean Honday in general has medium soft clear but this was beyond medium

So um..when you get your black MDX let us know what you think of the clear coat just teasing.

yeah i have a silver one and it is a 06 (old body style) and had the dealer wash it ONCE and they messed it all up. I only needed zaio and the flex and it removed all the swirls no problem, so I am used to soft clear.

I had a vette once and if u put ANY kind of pressure with a MF towel it would induce marring! that was a hell of a detail!

Looks great.

My question is what did you tell the owner about how to wash the car? If the clear is that soft, washing it when it's really dirty sounds like trouble!

Funny you should ask that, the owner just purhcased a new pressure washer and had prevously ordered some micro fibers from eshine, I told him to be very gentle and not to apply much presure on the vehicle lol..well basically to avoid touching the paint as much as possible and he should be okay oh but I'm sure it will be back

Great detail guys the car looks incredible! The clear on black Honda’s/Acura's is ridiculous I don’t know why they would use such soft clear coat especially on a black car, I've found with my car that you have to keep anything you use on the paint really lubricated with qd to keep it from marring. Love the write up's BTW, real insightful.

Well at least the rear pasenger door was definetly repainted as to the rest of the vehicle, hard to say as with the PosiTector 6000 it was taking consistant readings. The owner just picked this vehicle up so he really dosen't know about the vehicle being re-sprayed.
