Well this truck was the very first detail I ever got paid for. Guy has been bringing it back on a regular basis ever since so I guess he was pleased. Well he wanted to get it looking good for summer and wanted some Supernatural as he has heard me talk a great deal about it. He hunts on this truck during the winter so I don't see it for a cleaning until that's over and then get it for a summer full detail. No paint correction as it will go back in the woods come October but make it look good nonetheless. Here is what I did:
Tires/Wheels: The wheels got CGs Citrus Wheel cleaner and my foam finger pockets. These things work great if the wheel isn't too complicated. If they were I would just use my Swissvax brush but all these needed were the finger pockets coupled with my Griots wheel scrub for the back barrels, and they did a great job. I used my lug nut brush for lug nut areas. Tires got cleaned with MS Super Green Stuff and a black wheel Shmitt and the wells got CGs Grime Reaper via a handheld sprayer from Lowe's. Let me veer off topic a minute and say that since seeing some threads on the handheld sprayers I would discuss some here. The one I use for my MS SGS came from MS and is 1000x better than the one from Lowes but it costs about 4 times as much. However I have gone through several of the Lowe's ones and they have leaked on the container part from small holes were the plastic is molded together. Today I noticed that the one with Grime Reaper is leaking at the nozzle area. I am through buying these and ordered several of the Solo ones gmblack3 posted in the thread. I hope these will be better as they don't look as cheap as the ones from Lowes. Heck on the three I have had crap out on me I could have almost bought another really good one from MS. Alright off my soap box and on with the detail. Tires were dressed with a base coat of MS Super Dress All and a top coat of CGs VRP. Both were applied with CGs Tire Applicators. The wells were dressed with CGs Bare Bones. Engine: The engine got the old faithful of rinse, spray down with MS SGS, agitate, rinse, dry with leaf blower, and dress with Stoners Trim Shine. Wash: I used my CR Spotless System and my foam cannon and a rinse bucket. I used CGs Citrus Wash (without the Gloss) and a Griots Mop stick. I used Megs Gold Class in the rinse bucket. All the lower panels were pretreated with MS SGS and bugs got MS Bug Off and a MS bug sponge. Rinsed with the CR Spotless. Clay: I used the good stuff with DP 4n1 as a clay lube in a hand held pressurized sprayer which is a replacement for one that had a leak. Rinsed again with the CR let it air dry while I cleaned the floor mats. Man its nice to let Mother Nature dry the car and not worry about water spots. Here was the temp today so it didn't take long to air dry: ![]() That gauge is in the direct sun but it was 102 degrees here today with 100% humidity! By the time I finished the mats there were no drops of water left on the entire truck! Well with the temp it was time to move inside the garage. I just put a new window unit AC in there and had it running since early this morning. Felt much better in the garage! Glass: All glass inside got CGs Glass Cleaner with a Black Magic Glass MF and dried off with a Walmart WW. For the exterior glass I decided to try something a little different. I used DG 501 on the glass while I was polishing with it. It worked really well and hopefully will give it some nice protection as well as cleaning it. Interior: He keeps the interior very well since I cleaned it the first time. Just gets a little dusty and needed some more protection to liven it up a bit. I used CGs Silk Shine and a MF mitt. CGs Silk Shine reminds me of 303 with a great smell. I vacuumed it out and shampooed the floor mats with Folex and extracted with my extractor. Trim: The nerf bars got Stoners Trim Shine and so did the back bumper area. The bed rails got CGs Silk Shine. Paint: The paint just needed some cleaning as its been since before hunting season when it was done last. He only wanted maint. washes until hunting season was over. I decided to go with the ol' faithful DG 501 on a 6" white Sonus pad on my Chicago rotary with 3M bp. I buffed it off with CGs black and yellow MF. Protection: I used CGs Jetseal 109 applied via a 4" LC CCS blue pad and a polishing pal from Danase. Buffed it off with a CGs Edgeless MF. LSP: The owner had been hearing me talk at work about Supernatural and it being just barely a notch above Rubbish Boys OE. Well one of the guys on his shift had just gotten me to do Jetseal and Rubbish Boys OE on his truck so the owner wanted to go with Supernatural. I hadn't seen it on white yet and was glad he chose it. I put it on via a 4" LC CCS red pad and Danase polishing pal and my blowdryer method. I let it sit about 10 minutes and buffed it off with a CGs Edgeless MF. Man I was thrilled with the way SN looked on white! And man does it go on and off extremely easy. This is one incredible wax and gives a phenomenal look! Right before I took it to him I did a wipedown with Optimum's Instant Detailer and a Cookie Monster MF.
