Default My Favourite Benz since the '55 Gullwing..

This beautiful car belongs to the same gentleman for whom I did the '42 Caddy and the '53 Chrysler. This car stays in Florida and is only used when they are down there...it's only got 21,000 miles on an '06. I do believe it's the prettiest Mercedes to come along since the 300SL. The car was driven up to Windsor via a bunch of golf courses as a vacation. It had bugs on it from all the Southern States, LOL. For the most part it was in marvelous condition except for scratches in the bumper, gas cap area and behind the C pillar on the passenger side. I was going to get to try out my new Menz P.G. on this super hard clear coat. Since the paint was decent for the most part (I got them some touch up paint and had to do about 6 or 7 spots), I really tried to amp up the shine on this one. The interior, due to the colour, was going to show the greatest improvement. I wanted this car to look like it could go in a car show..I think I succeeded!

The Process:

Wheels/Tires:

Barrels & Face cleaned with Surf City
Wells cleaned with APC & Long handled brush
Tires cleaned with ARO & scrub brush
Tires treated with DP gel
Wheels cleaned with DG 501
Wheels sealed with DG 105
Wells treated with Adams U.S.

Paint:

Clay with Riccardo
Compound with Menz P.G. where needed (by hand on bumper areas)
Polish with Menz 106ff with white LCC pad, rotary
Glaze with WMF with rotary and blue pad
Clean with DG 501 with rotary and gray pad
Apply DG 601 by hand
Apply/Remove DG 105 by hand
Apply AW after curing time
Touch up paint leveled with Langka

Exterior:

Exhaust tips cleaned with Blue Magic, followed by DG 501
Grille cleaned with DG 501 followed by DG 105
Plastic trim under rear bumper treated with DP tire gel
Headlights buffed/cleaned with DG 681 plastic polish, DG 105
PDR guy attended and removed 2 dents in passenger front door

Interior:

Spot treated stains with Folex
Steam cleaned all interior carpeting and fabric moldings
Plastic areas cleaned with Woolite:Water mix
Plastic areas treated with 303
Leather cleaned with DG leather cleaner
Leather treated with DG leather conditioner
Glass done with IG
Vacuum thoroughly throughout

BEFORES:

PDR to the Rescue, Please:

The steering wheel was the greatest save..magic eraser to the rescue:

AFTERS:

Sitting down on the job again!!

PDR finished product:

Awesome job! Man, that poor MB has taken some serious rock chips on that front bumper.

detaildoc..the downside of highway driving..at least the touchup worked fine. (I was hoping there'd be no matching issues)

JLs..thanks so much. I loved the colour, I loved the car! Especially with the light tan interior..it would make me seriously contemplate it over black..and THAT'S saying something!
