Hi Everyone
This was booked in for 3 days and to be honest it wasnt enough time as i was finding annoying little things with it. The car needed to look good as the owner wanted to sell her. This is where the car has spent some of its life: ![]() The Merc dropped off to me: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() somethings must have got into the glass and rusted! This was clayed and polished as much as possible and was greatly reduced by the end for got to get an after pic, doh! ![]() The whole car was covered in AG PM3 ![]() ![]() Door shuts and all the usual places where cleaned up ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The car was foamed with the Gilmour as i didnt want to use the jet wash as there where parts that had rusted and bubbled. ![]() ![]() Arches washed ![]() ![]() indicators removed to get clean as much as poss around the lenses ![]() ![]() The fabric roof was washed inc the edges ![]() Then claying. This was after a tiny section on the bonnet, not too bad but it got worse and sonus grey was needed all over. ![]() water not even moving on the bonnet after claying ![]() ![]() The car was washed after claying then dried. DAY 2 Thought i would tackle the interior first whilst i had the hard top off. So much easier doing an interior with no roof! Carpets vaccumed and some parts needed the wet vac. 50/50 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() After a good scrub, wipe down, hoover, leather cleaner etc it was looking much better ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The vinyl window was polished but nowhere near what i had wanted. The plastic window folds and really bends when put away which has caused a rip the owner said a while ago and has bent the plastic causing the white marks. I dont like convertibles for this reason. before ![]() after ![]() roof was washed again after some dust ![]() Whilst that was drying nicely i decided to start polishing the roof whilst it was off the car and easy to get at. It was that bad at all tbh. brinkman ![]() Sungun after ![]() With the soft top nicely dried it was folded away. The roof was waxed (DODO green was the choice for this car) and lifted back onto the car. Waxed roof end of day 2 ![]() DAY 3 With the roof sorted the night before it helped time wise as i had a lot to do! There where quite a few marked that needed wet sanding out and chips etc that needed touching up with the paint i had arranged prior to the detail. My 50/50 pics didnt come out very well so i apologise. I do have to get to grips with my camera skills! the bonnet ![]() ![]() 50/50 not in direct sunlight ![]() 50/50 in sunlight but not very good pic sorry ![]() bonnet after ( it had clouded over a little bit) ![]() ![]() bonnet reflection after ![]() The boot ![]() 50/50 just see the line ![]() After ![]() Working my way around the car ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The lower parts are plastic with a bad spray job ![]() ![]() ![]() Once correction was done it was time for waxing ![]() ![]() ![]() Bonnet after wax ![]() After the usual, plastics dressed, glass cleaned and polished, Peach deodoriser, alloys sealed, tyres dressed etc it was time for it to go home ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Cheers!
