Default Yellow MG ZS180

I haven't posted a show and shine on here yet, mainly because all the details I have done have all used products I sell, so didn't want to spam unnecessarily.

It's my own car an MG ZS 180, not sure if these made it across the pond, may look very similar to a Honda Civic because it uses the body shell from one (with a boot stuck on to make it a saloon).

I'll just add that I only detail for fun, not professionally, on my own cars or maybe for friends and family if they ask nicely.

Anyway on with the detail, over the winter it had picked an amazing amount of tar. Never ever seen it this bad, so can only presume that it was driven (I'll blame the wife!) through some road works while the tar was still wet.

Gave it a pre-soak with the old super sprayer and some Bilt-Hamber Auto-wash, followed by a 2 bucket wash and quickly dried.

The offending tar. Bottom half of the car was like this all the way round.

This should do the trick.

And it did, this has been wiped over with an old microfibre cloth after a minute or so dwelling.

A quick once over with yellow poly clay and some Mark V Showroom Finish for the lube.

Now this shot and all the others I took were supposed to show up the swirls, but they didn't show up. Not one picture I took showed them!

Anyway on with the polishing, at the time I had just got hold of some new Mark V polishes to try so thought I would have a go with one of them. This one is phase V a light cut finishing polish.

Process used:
Red Waffle finishing pad.
Worked at speed 1 for 2 passes.
Up to speed 3 for about 8 passes until it started to dry.
Down to speed 2 for 2 more passes and only light pressure.

And this is what we got. Not much of a before and after, because you can't see swirls in either! You'll have to trust me it shifted most of them.

I did a few panels with the Phase V and then a few with Mystique, just so I could compare the polishes side by side.

After polishing.

I then went over the car with Lime Prime Lite, followed by a coat of RB Original Edition applied by foam applicator.

All the little bits where then completed:-
Tyres & Arches - Dressed with Mark V California Dressing.
Wheels - Sealed with Bilt Hamber Auto-balm.
Glass - Cleaned with Mark V Window Sheen.
Black Trim - Cleaned with APC and Black Wowed.

By which time it was dark and I couldn't get any pics, so the following morning I was out in the early morning sun to snap a few finished pics.

Thanks for looking.

Looks great Ben. I really love the Rubbish Boys Original Edition, but you already knew that! First time I've seen it on yellow and it looks great. The Bilt-Hamber line really intrests me.

Well done, vehicle looks great. As for taking pictures of the paint, yes yellow is quite difficult to capture the imperfections...but the vehicle looks really good.

Thank you for sharing

That tar looked quite bad but you sure turned it around
