My polishing story was when I was trying to sell a Les Paul Classic Plus, but it had a couple places right in view on the body the finish was wearing off and would've really hurt the value, but a friend of mine working at a body shop polished it out nicely. Don't think it was even a name brand he used, but he machine polished so it looked brand new.

Im thinking of using hand polish and see what happens, the lacquer on the electric guitars tend to hold up better than whatever it is that they use on the acoustics.
