Default The closing of a thread: Mixology 101

Forum Admnistrator,

In no way did I condone the behavior in the orignal thread in question and I completely supported its closure. The behavior was juvenile and made no contribution whatsoever to the thread itself. That said, I viewed the second thread in the spirit of the best in satire, a prime element of which is to snub the nose of the reader in such a way as to reduce the issue down to absurdity in a light hearted way. That was accomplished extremely well.

I viewed the admonishment as unwarranted and heavy-handed, prerogative notwithstanding. Yes, the thread could be construed as a snub but to do so was to completely miss the satiracal point of it. In fact, the overwhelming follow-on posters got it and the esprit de corps was a refreshing sign of youth. If the author had intended the post to be incindiary, he could have been much more direct about it. The closure was disappointing and unessesarily summary in what appears to be a rather open forum. It was what drew me to this site.

If what I have said riles against the norm of the forum, then please exercise the right to revoke my registration. Rarely have I been so compelled to take a public position in this way but that post would have brought a smile to George Bernard Shaw.

Regards,

Keesue

(meaning in an ancient dialect 'one who walks the talk).

Hi keesue, thank you for your feed back but to be honest, what is done is done. Personally I didn't find the thread humors, I failed to see the humor, maybe others felt it was funny but I didn't and many others did not as well and reported it to me.

I acted as I felt was best for the forum and closed it to be done with, if you wish to express your concerns please do so via PM.

Thank you,

Carlos

On a closing note, if you wish to discuss this please contact me via PM.
