Default New Posts in a Thread

Hey Carlos, I was wondering if we could have some sort of feature that if we were to click on a thread with a new post, it would automatically jump to the new post since our last visit. I'm thinking the coding for this may be just a few lines of code of if-else statements but I may be wrong since this forum is using php after all.

Anyway, I hope we can have this feature implemented as it would save us a few seconds every time we have to scroll through threads, hehe.

So if I understand correctly, instead of hitting the "View First Unread" it would go directly to the new post within a thread? With out having to click on anything?

I believe he means that arrow looking icon in front of the thread title....when you hover it it says go to first new post, but when you hit it it never takes you to the first new post. It drives me nuts also

hmm..that's strange becuase the "View First Unread" button works for me every time Well just about every time.

I know that sometimes I have to wait till the page completely loads before I hit the button other wise it will take me to some random post

LoL, I never noticed that arrow! Wow, I should pay attention more. If I experience anything like Duratys, I'll let you know Carlos.

It may be my connection at work, remote areas and a sattelite connection, but I find it messes up more than it works.

At work it works great, but at home it sometimes messes up the posts or I have to wait for the page to completely load but for the most part it works well for me. Not sure what kind of connection we have at work but it's mighty fast and that's all that matters to me but I think I know what you mean Duratys.

Well it wouldnt be bad if the sat connection was fast but its no better than dial up

I will try and make time to try it at home these next days off to see if a faster connection helps me.

I think that if it's a thread that contains a lot of pictures that need to be loaded, it messes up the functionality of that new unread post arrow.

That could be my issue Denzil..... It does seem to be that those threads are usually the ones that are problematic. Some of those details with lots of pics take well over 5min before all of them load......
