Default Anyone else here shoot Pentax?

I see a lot of posts about folks using Canon and Nikon DSLRs, but really haven't seen anything from anyone else using Pentax. I have a K10D that I'm pretty happy with. I think all the DSLRs out there are phenomenal, and if you could take the best of each one, you'd have the perfect DSLR. Anyway, was looking to pick up a longer lens, and wanted to see what folks were having luck with. I'm thinking the Sigma 70-300mm APO lens as I tested one out for a week on a Nikon D80 once, and it produced some very nice and sharp images. Also, looking to pick up either the Tamron/Pentax 18-250 "superzoom" lens just for day trips to the zoo with kids and stuff. For my details, I use my Tamron 28-75 f/2.8. I've actually gotten pretty decent taking pics of paint with it using manual focus. Anyway, anyone with feedback (no matter what brand you're shooting) on longer lenses or all in ones would be greatly appreciated.

Nothing wrong with Pentax, I have a co-worker...actually the same co-worker who's big on photography..any who he loves Pentax and there are lots of advantages to go the Pentax way.

Any who, so many too choose from but you know how it is...top brands, that pay top dollars to advertise, promote bla..bla..bla...well that' just how it goes I guess

Found a good price on the Pentax 18-250mm lens yesterday on Amazon and fired it up. To my surprise, it arrived today out of Nashville, TN. That's basically overnight shipping. Threw it on my K10D this evening and think it's gonna work out just fine for family outings.

Hey, Carlos, I appreciate your interest. Here it is:

And a shot fully extended to 250mm:

I believe Tamron makes this same lens in other mounts as well. You do give up a little image quality in tradeoff of the 18-250 zoom, but from what I've read it's a great walkaround lens. I'll be mainly using it for family outings and vacation.

Also, for grins, here's a shot or two from my 10-17mm Pentax fisheye lens. If you have a few hundred to burn, they are pretty cool lenses to have.

Nice lens and very nice pictures too....the more I read about takin pictures the more I want, it's starting to look like how I got hooked on detailing tha's okay though becuase taking pictures is something that I can take with me where ever I go, from family outings to special events and best of all to detailing such a great hobby, wish I would have started sooner

Thank you for sharing, I like the fish eye lenses. Combined with an experiance person you can get some neat pictures with a fish eye lens ...like the ones you posted...they look neat.

Thing I noticed about taking pictures is that it requires an eye for it...what I mean is that anyone can learn how to take a picture but it's looking for that great picture that requires creativity and an artistic eye too....well just things I've noticed that's all.

Oh by the way if you have any more lenses or purchase any more I'd love to see them
