Is the 70-300mm lens any good?

sneek when I purchased my XTi there was some combo sale going on and if I'm not mistaken I got the stock lense with a longer lense for about $1,000.00 or so worth looking into if your thinking of taking a 70-300mm lens..I just can't recall what the other lense I got is...I'll just look it up, I posted the picture here on the forum let me check.

Found it My X-mas gift and my wifes gift.

oh and I was close the long lense I got is 75-300mm close

haha....The trip is official, going to Costa Rica + Nicaragua definitely isn't cheap! My dad says if I buy the camera then I should wake up at 5 am to take pictures of wild life I guess it is good that there is lots of coffee involved...

Yup, that is the combo I went with...but I'm already looking at purchasing another lense

You'll have fun on the trip sneek, Costa Rica is a gorgeous place...wish I could say the same for my home town Nicaragua, don't get me wrong it's till gorgeous but government is so corrupt it's a shame...any who both places are nice it's just that Costa Rica's government has been much smarter then the Nicaraguan government...any that's off topic and it's not like me to go off topic hahahaha I couldn't even keep a straight face when I typed that hahahahaha.

So I listened to you guys and got the XTi...

It is pretty easy to make awesome photos. I was impressed by how good the 75-300 lens was.
