um..okay so what is the purpose of the ring light? Sorry I feel silly asking but if I don't ask I'll never know

Look forward to your next photo shoot, I remember the last photo shoot that was outside in the dark that you had two umbrellas...

So what do you mean to defuse the light? Meaning to make it look softer? Sorry I don't know all these technical terms but I "may" get the idea becuase a co-worker is a hard core photographer as well and talks about a bunch of stuff about taking pictures as well so I just keep asking and eventually it will sink it

haha its ok man, i understand its alot to learn, with umbrellas and soft boxes you get much more natural soft light that seems to rap around the body and direct flash gives a more harsh direct light, witch can work in some cases...the ring light gives a dead on rap around affect...it bends the light around the body..instead of using a on camera flash that only gives flat lighting..the ring light gives more of a 3d look

Oh okay I didn't know that about the 3d look, good to know though.

So why did you build your own? Why not just go out there and purhcase one? Do they exist? I'm assuming they do, are they expensive?

haha yes they do exist and some up to $700 some $300

now when i get my own studio i will purchase one of the good ones, but this works for now lol

So Scott how can this be used for takin picture of cars? What will this 3D lighting do to a vehicle?

i got my sender and receiver for 28 on ebay, then i got the other 2 receivers for like 15 bux for both of them...they work really good
