Griot's Garage Ultimate Wash Bucket
Price: $39.95 Size: 6 gallon My first purchase from Griot's and I wish I'd gotten one of these things sooner. Label and Appearance: Well...it's a big square bucket. Rectangular actually. In the predictable bright red with black trim and a big Griot's logo on the side. It's also got a warning label on it, telling you to keep your kids away from it, lest they fall into it and drown. No kidding! Directions: There weren't any, beyond the measurement markings on the inside, and the warning label. Ease of use: The 2" casters on the bottom are wonderful...mostly. What would really be nice is if one or all of them had a lockout feature. That way, on a hilly driveway, I wouldn't have to be careful where I put it, lest it rolls down the hill. Appearance: Not much I can offer that isn't already on this web page: Ultimate Wash Bucket - Cleaning Tools - Car Washing - Car Care - Griot's Garage Overall Comments: This is the most cleverly engineered car wash bucket I've ever seen. And really, for $39.95, the price is not bad either. It's got a "grit guard" that sits neatly in the bottom of the bucket. But with a twist - built into the guard is a little depression that allows you to put in the correct amount of shampoo before adding water. To me, this was one of those "now why didn't I think of that?" ideas. However, I've found a bit of a weirdness with this. There's no markings on it to tell me how much that little bowl holds. So, to some degree, I suppose you're still left to guess. It's got a little removable shelf, further up the body of it, made out of the same plastic that the grit guard is made of. This way you can set your mitt on it to drain if you like. The shelf is small enough to be out of the way, but big enough to hold my large microfiber mitts. And since it's made out of a grid of plastic, there's a lot of friction to it, so your mitt is unlikely to fall off and onto the ground (which I know we all hate). I also really like the fact that it's huge (6 gallons), has measurement marks on the inside of it (in liters and gallons), and has nice large casters on the bottom of it. You can roll it right across your front lawn and it'll roll nicely. Nice big, ergonomically shaped handle too, along with a tight fitting lid. Which means you can even use it as a storage container for some of your supplies when you're not detailing cars, and dust and "critters" can't find their way inside. Rating 1-5 (5 being the best): 5. I love it and would buy it again. |
