Default Product Reviews: Cleaners

Ok my second go at some product reviews as its still raining here at the beach, LOL. Up for review this time will be various soaps and cleaners I have been using.

Dodo Juice Born to be Mild - I got a sample of this soap from my bud Cooter to try out. I must say it really impressed me. I used about 1-1.5 oz in my foam cannon and got some very luxurious foam. The smell is great as well. The soap is very gentle and I would only use it on maint. washes as I don't think its got the power to get the tough stuff and strip LSP. It had great lubricity and left the wife's Volvo looking great. I liked it better than my normal maint. wash Majestic Solutions Wash n Wax. It seemed to foam a little better and rinsed better too. I really wish it was more readily available to us and not so expensive. This would be like the Swissvax Pneu is - only for my cars or my best clients. Not sure how it works in just a bucket but via a foam cannon it worked great. I would rank it above Zaino Z7, DP Extreme Foam, MS Wash n Wax, and Megs Gold Class as far as performance goes. Z7 is right there with it but I liked the way BTBM foamed a little better than Z7. DG 901 may still be the leader of maint. wash shampoos though and is tough for anyone to beat when it comes to price and performance. Lack of availability and the price are its only drawbacks.

Megs Hyper Wash - Wow what can I say about how impressed I have been with the Megs detailers line products I have been using. Previously I had only used the Megs APC and after trying MS Super Green Stuff the Megs was beaten hands down so I never tried anything else. Also I think that the Megs line has to be one of the most ecomonical products that really performs out there. I have used the Hyper Wash in both the foam cannon and in a bucket and it does great in both. Man only having to use 1 oz to wash a car is amazing. It has great cleaning ability, lubricity, and rinses very well. The only thing I'm not sure about is if it will strip LSP if you use more like 2 oz or so. If anyone who is familiar with it could tell me that would be great. I liked it so much I was tempted to buy a gallon but with all the other soaps I have and as little of the Hyper Wash as you have to use I would never use up all my soap. Plus I'm still trying to decide if its a maint. or strip everything soap. That is my one complaint about the Megs descriptions on various websites is that it is very vague and doesn't give much guidance.

Chemical Guys Bug and Tar Strong Wash - By far one of the best products I have stumbled onto. I say stumbled onto because the only reason I tried it was because Gemini13 sent me some in a trade (he also helped turn me onto Megs HD). I have used it two different ways and it performs lights out in both methods. The first is adding an ounce of it to my foam cannon with either CGs Citrus Wash n Gloss or Wash Clear (2 oz of soap and 1 oz of Strong Wash). That will clean and strip everything on the car but the paint. After a wash with this combo the paint just squeaks it's so clean. It makes removing stubborn spots a breeze and I know there will be no sign of a LSP when I'm done.

The second method is mixing it 3:1 in a sprayer and pre-treating areas. I use it for bugs and it is by far the best bug remover I have ever used. It takes no effort to wipe away the bugs after being sprayed with this. I spray it on the windshield if its covered in bugs and then foam the car down and a boars hair brush (as soft as that is) will easily wipe away all bugs from the windshield. I have also sprayed it on lower panels that are covered in tar and road grime and it knocks it out easily. I will absolutely never ever be without this product in my cabinet. And at only $19 a gallon its a steal as it will last a very long time. Only drawback is having to pay shipping from CGs to get it but thats not the products drawback.

The megs detailer line is incredible...i posted a thread of my collection but i think it got lost in the server switch but i think i have 8 or 9 gallons of the detailer line...it is really something else! I think the hyper wash would strip anything at a strong dilution, something like 2 or 3 ounces in 3 gallons of water...i would think it would have to with a 400:1 dilution ratio. Gemini also sent me the CG strong wash and i love it as well....1 ounce with CWC and you are all set!!

Thanks for the info and now I know who to come to with my Megs Detailers line questions. I am really looking to transitioning into this line as my CGs stuff runs out. I absolutely love my CGs but the shipping just kills me so the Megs line is becoming more and more attractive. I may try 2-2.5 oz of Hyper Wash in my foam cannon with an ounce of strong wash and I bet that gets everything too.

Thanks for the review on the bug and tar wash. I really need something for the rockers and bugs. I've been looking between P21S Total Auto Wash and Surf City Grime Destroyer but I found this product while browsing the CG website this morning. I couldn't find any reviews on it but then you did one. Perfect timing!

That Dodo wash sounds amazing, if it is better than Z7 I will be blown away.
