About DVD
Too difficult to learn how to detail your car like a professional?

We are about to prove you wrong! Watch and enjoy as professional detailer "Clean Dean" Laumbach teaches 3 beautiful models how to professionally detail an automobile both inside and out. This comprehensive course is both educational as well as entertaining.

Watch as the models get dirty taking on such tasks as:

* Engine detailing
* Detailinig Wheels and Tires
* Hand washing your car properly
* The claybar process
* Machine Polishing and paint protection
* Interior detailing techniques & products
* Effective glass cleaning

So say goodbye to small scratches, dull finishes, dingy interiors, and streaky windows forever and start giving your car the professional detail it deserves.
Background: I have watched many many auto detailing videos, many of them, although informative are dry. As far as I know, Clean Dean is a well known and well respected detailer, i figured I would support a sponsor and order this DVD.

Competition: Meguiar's Professional Training DVD/VHS, Adams PC Polishing, Adams Car Care DVD, ShowCarGarage's How to use the PC (now known as ShowCarDetailing).

With respect to the competition, Clean Dean's AutoDetailing course Volume 1, has good information, is presented in an interesting fashion, more on this later, and is a great DVD for beginner and intermediate detailers. Meguiar's DVD is primarily focused on two things, polishing/sanding techniques and procedures and products. Not much information is given on beginner type activities making it not a very helpful movie for beginners. Adam's DVDs tend to be no insync with what us "forum detailers" tend to believe. Some procedures, IMO are rather risky and sometimes just not right. Very little focus is on technique, and a great amount is placed on product. AutoDetailing Volume 1, shows good washing, claying and drying technique, engine detailing and glass cleaning. Many good tips that are hidden gems on forums are revealed in this DVD!

Pros:
1) Great Technique for windows..I honestly can say I never thought cleaning windows this way!
2) The information is presented in a fashion in which people won't fall asleep.
3) THE GIRLS , hahaha This might make the DVD much more interesting! There is a photo sideshow in the Extras part of the DVD. The extended car wash is pretty hot. Laura is my favorite.
4) It was great to see a side note about ergonomics and safety.
5) Not too much brand pushing, I wasn't paying close attention but I didn't see a single brand name mentioned.

Cons:
1) Machine Polishing was kind of skimmed over! I place HUGE emphasis on machine polishing.
2) I can't say I think that using compressed air to blow APC around is good for your lungs. Even from regular usage I sometimes have to cough from using Meguair's APC.
3) WHY IS THIS NOT IN HD? haha it is great video quality...but HD would have just made is so much better.

In conclusion, I think this is a great DVD to help people get started with detailing. For sure a great stocking stuffer for friends that don't understand what we do! I await Volume 2, which I am guessing is about Machine polishing and more advance techniques. I think it is worth the money. As a side note I believe shipping is cheaper if you don't live in Canada.

Props to Clean Dean for putting such an informative DVD together.

woops, I missed this thread, but it is to clean windows in different directions so that when you pull it into a different light condition you know which side the streaks are on. I thought it was pretty simple but never would have thought about it myself.

I missed this one myself and that is a good idea. I have seen bits and pieces on you tube...
