Default Used some new stuff today, my findings...

Well today was the first time in a awhile ive had time and good weather to be able to take care of the car a little. It was real dirty, and it was begining to get to me

Sorry for not getting any pics, but my camera is pretty much shot and I was working with limited time today anyway. Tom (trhland) stopped by and we played with some new (to us) stuff.

1. My Wheel/Tire/Well cleaning Mix in Pump Sprayer
8 oz DG Ultimate Orange : 128oz water + 2 oz CG Citrus W&G

I mixed this stuff up and used my sprayer for the first time. Its a cheap pump pressure sprayer with a wand, and it made spraying down the wheels and wells a breeze, saves alot of time compare to a spray bottle. I was very surprised how well the mixture cleaned. I did very little agitating with a few different wheel brushes, and I didnt scrub the wells at all. Everything came out 99% totally clean, and my wheels were quite dirty, at least by my standards. The soap helped when agitating the wheels, and the stuff clung pretty well. If I wanted to make the mixture even stronger, I would feel fine doing it too, because its diluted 16:1, and that pretty weak. The Ultimate orange is real cheap and seems to work great, even on the tires, so this is going to be a mainstay for me for awhile.

2. Optimum Car Soap

Hands down, the best soap I have used with the foam gun. About 2.5-3 oz in the autogeek style foam gun, and I was up to my ears in slick clingy foam. The soap cleaned very well, only failing to get the toughest of grime spots. I also used this with a chenille MF mitt for the first time, and the MF mitt is real gentle, and it still cleaned well. Its about 6 hours later, and i STILL have foam hanging out in my driveway. This is an excellent car wash.

3. Lusso Oro

Tom brought this stiff over, and he hadnt even used it yet, so we were excited to see how it looked. My car is silver metallic, so I wasn't expecting the results we got. It looked outstanding to say the least. In my partly sunny, partly shaded back yard, the car look very wet and glossy. I could see a certain difference in the glow and reflection after the wax. It went on and came off like a dream too. This is some real nice stuff, and for the price its even better. We initially did just the hood with Lusso, then the roof with pinnacle SSII, which also looked awesome, but we decided to do the rest of the car with the lusso. When we stood back and looked at the car, it was just superb.

4. Optimum Tire shine

Alot of you have prob tried this stuff, but it was a first for me. Overall a very nice tire dressing. It went on easily with a foam applicator, darkened the tires alot, and was semi-glossy when applied, but soon dried a little more matte. Not as matte as surf city dressing, but a very nice look. My tires soaked up some after about 30 min, so a re applied lightly, let it dry, and took a spin in the car. No sling whatsoever. I hope it is lasts, because I think I like it alot.

5. Walmart waffle weave MF dish towels

I was at Walmart buying oil (best price on Mobile 1), and I spotted these and bought em, only 2.50 for two, they are the white ones. I used them for cleaning glass. They worked OK, except the were linting a little. Maybe they need to be washed, I really dont know. They did a good job of not streaking though, so if the linting stops they'll be a bargain.

Most of the detailing stuff Ive been buying continues to impress me, I hope these reviews helped some of you.

Thanks again tom for helping out and bringing the Lusso, I cant wait to see it on your truck

great review, I agree with lusso/opt shampoo. I always use walmart towels on windows and it works great with no linting. Hope the linting goes away after you wash them
