I still think a PS3 is a better deal. you get to play the games AND get a blu-ray player for less than a blu-ray player alone.
Yup, it was just announced that HD-DVD is the betamax of the past. I still think its because Toshiba failed to embrace the porn industry, just as Sony did when they release betamax.

i got a ps3 and love it
i really don't know what the standalone players offer that the ps3 doesnt.. i MAINLY use it for blu-ray movies, but once in a while i can do some killin with call of duty ...i have it hooked up to a projector, runs very nice! pix tomorrow... as far as gettin ur movies..u can never go wrong with amazon. i got oceans 13 along with alot of other hits for about 10 bucks not to mention nip/tuck season for for 26 bucks..which i think normally goes for $100 get the blu-ray player along with planet earth blu-ray edition for $44..and ur set! enjoy!
