Default What do you charge per hr/job and location?

didnt know where to post once again but this school section should be okay

I am wondering what everyone charges and where there located? Im sure everyone wants to be competitive not to high not to low. I also know some feel they are that good of a detailer and or use that expensive of products to justify a higher price per location.

Does anyone do deals, in order to come down on price, maybe a cheap detail if you know the car is going to be seen by a lot of people?

I am thinking of a deal/program were if a customer refers someone they will get some money back, up to so many refferals. Basically encouraging them to tell someone about me.

No, what I usually do is give the customer an estimated time, say 4-6 hours. If I go over what I quoted I will only charge for the 6 hours. But if it only took 4.5 hours that is all I will charge for.

$650-$1000.
7-12 hours of time depending on vehicle.

In this 2008 off-season, I am getting 2 appointments per week. No advertising, no decent website or website ranking. When I can ramp it up to 6-8 per week, I'll hire or partmer with someone to run my IT business and go into pre-retirement mode and focus on only runing the detailing business.

Yes I charge per job.

No real hourly rate but I guess it works out to be $30 an hour or so, but sometimes more depending on what is being done, size of car.

I thought about pricing by vehicle size S,M,L and in each size category attach an estimated time and cost. Like Small vehicle up to 7hours working time =$279 and then if if takes me 8 hours instead should I charge additionally by the hour?

I charge $50/hr flat rate. Having said that I have only had a few people over the last couple of years ask for a quote before I did the work.
