Yup, that's what I was told too that alcohol some how dries out the clear coat...but I'm just going by what I was told. I can kinda understand though but I just didnt' realize that the clear coat actually had oils in it? mmmm....who knew...maybe we could reques that to be shown on TV on the "how it's built" program

The last alcohol wipe I did was on that fire truck and on the single paint area I could notice a difference..again it could have been my eyes playing tricks on me but I thought the paint looked a bit different. Well I've been talking with my friend that owns his own paint shop and he stands by his original information he provided me with. That was not to use alcohol wipe down and he says that oils are good for the vehicle but that the oils only add to the wet look of the vehicle
I have another friend that works at a paintshop and said the same thing...apperently oils help but don't go past the clear coat I think this is still up for discusion and still needs further re-searching but that's just my
